it's raining here in korea. good thing i brought my flipflops.
i've had the greatest time here, keeping busy as always... I know I should be tired from finals and all, but this is my short two week vacation before plunging back into school and lab. having marko and ernie here is fun too, hanging out almost daily.
we went drinking in apkujong last night, so much fun. not that anyone can go hard core drinking than me, but glad to find that ernie had a lower tolerance than me. :D haha so funny. He went looking for the restaurant bathroom, and he asked a waiter in english, which the korean waiter didn't understand. and in his half-drunken state, ernie randomly decided to ask the waiter where the bathroom was in french, and the waiter reflexively pointed towards the bathroom. HAHA so funny.
we tried a smattering of soju's last night... my favorite, korean yogurt soju (almost like drinking yogurt alone :P), jasmine soju (apparently the latest trend in korean drinking) and asian pear soju. yum.
my dad's at the DMZ today, not the DMV like i thought he first said :P. One of my least favorite places in the world. DMV, not the DMZ. Anyways, he went because the US army is preparing to send a lot of soldiers out from Korea to Iraq. My dad's needed to give medical examinations to make sure the soldiers are healthy enough, and it requires that he stays in the DMZ area for a few days to look over that many soldiers. kinda sad, my dad said it's such a waste that so many of these soldiers are so young, low twenties, and the army gave them almost no skills. so sad. hopefully this war will end soon, almost to the point where i've forgotten what the point of this war is.
going to china tomorrow!! i'm very excited.
