realization of the day: this studying-every-day thing is surprisingly new. i don't know how I ever graduated college.
i worked out for the first time in such a long time! i went for a jog for the first time in years. there's a nice bike path and "green belt" right behind my place, so I though i'd utilize that opportunity to my benefit. also, i saw an enlarged heart today, and not only was it gross, but it kinda scared me to start exercising and take care of myself more. so go out, take a jog or a ballet class or do yoga poses (like madonna in the gap commercial, the tree pose is hard!) or dance like there's no tomorrow to maroon 5 (i did that once :).
a goal of mine: as i got buried in classes, i've really been feeling the need for balance in my life. it would be so easy to study all day and night and go to class and not do anything else besides that. but i would be such a boring person! not to mention the fact that i'd be miserable. i love reading "fun" websites, like the food section in newspapers and the like, and i think that's not always a bad thing. i am so thankful that my parents have really encouraged surrounding me with culture (like music, horseback riding, dance), and now I'm able to enjoy all these things.
i mention horseback riding cuz i'm going this weekend. :) brings back long buried childhood memories.
we get to play doctor tomorrow, yay. i'm excited.

they're playing my dad's favorite song, "Girl from Ipanema".
So here I am, sitting at Mishka's Cafe, the first med student here (or that I recognize). whew, I sound hard core, except for the fact that I've been surfing the net for the past hour (go wireless!). I miss having DSL! My phone dialup modem just doesn't cut it. Their lattes here are so yummy.
I was looking through my Europe pics, I had such a great time. I'm itching to go back sometime soon. Amsterdam was great (think of a boat ride down the many canals, cheese, and wine), so was Venice and Paris. I put a pic of Amsterdam's Central Station as my background, so it kinda feels like I'm there again. (Actually, not really, but it's a nice pic :) The pics from St. Goar in Germany are so beautiful too. I also saw the most beautiful man in Austria - I think that's where all the cute guys are hiding, in Austria. ;)
My goals for this weekend: study biochemistry this morning, anatomy later, watch "Kissing Jessica Stein", take a bath, run errands, clean house and finish laundry. woohoo.

i think ice cream is good for colds. or strep throat, which I was diagnosed with yesterday. but i'm ok, glad that I'm finally taking some medicine which is actually helping me heal!
medical school IS a lot of material to learn, just started this week. it's so hard to stay concentrated for that long. but it's doable, so far, at least! i think it's a little bit of review for me, which is good. i'm actually enjoying the material, which is surprising to me. i'm really enjoying the clinical applications that they present in class. biochemistry today brought back deja vu nightmares of ochem. hopefully that class will be ok.

I AM SICK.
<:(
but even when I'm sick, God seems to provide.
you know what I noticed in Korea? The 80's look is coming back! ahhhh! It's so funny, I noticed a lot of blue eyeshadow and neon hot pink cheeks/blush for makeup on girls. And, on top of that, I saw a few side ponytails! I swore off blue eyeshadow when I was younger, but... hm, we'll see.

man, posting pics on this blog has been hard. but hopefully i found a solution. the thing is, the pics stay on the blog for a few hours, and then when I come back, the host that I've been trying to leech off of, notices that I'm trying to access the host from an off-host site. haha. I'm so sneaky. kinda. I think I'd make a terrible spy.
hopefully the pics stay on! let me know if not.
