busy

busy day today, but nice... i didn't miss any classes today! it was b/c we had no 8 am class. let's see if i make it to an 8 am class at all this quarter. :D we had lecture from 10 til noon, and then had to hop in a car for a drive to the hospital for class that went from 1 pm til 5 pm. I haven't skipped lunch in a while, so I was pretty hungry when I got back. i love relaxing at home at night, esp after a busy day on a cold night. i made myself a cup of tea, wrapped myself in a blanket, and watched the Rockefeller Christmas tree lighting, watching for my sister in the 100,000 person crowd that showed up. Pretty good music - Michael Buble was adorable, pretending to be Elvis. Jessica Simpson looked beautiful - very old movie glamour. I love Christmas music too.

hm, 8 am class tomorrow. to go or not to go...?

Happy Holidays!

Holiday season is officially going to begin in a few hours... very excited. :) I'd be more excited if I didn't get up today at 4 am, altho I went back to sleep at 6 am. It's nothing like an early morning trip to the airport to know that Thanksgiving is here. Southwest had a line too. Sarah and her friend are coming - yay. Hopefully everyone can fit in my room.

Macy's Thanksgiving parade tomorrow morning! So exciting. And lots of food. I should have preemptively worked out today. ah well. Jen comes in tomorrow, and shopping on Friday in Union Square...

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

nothing, to me, says the holidays like the nutracker ballet. it really feels like the holidays are coming - i'm so excited to see all my family again and for good food and good times. it feels like it starts today - going to the city with a bunch of my friends, an early start on Christmas shopping. yay~ Posted by Hello

watched House yesterday. It was interesting b/c the interesting case was a parasite case - and since, just a few days ago, a bunch of us had basically learned parasitology in one day (including me), we knew they were talking about! It was funny to hear Robert Sean Leonard talk about
eosinophil counts.

After House, I sat all of my friends down to do their makeup for the costume party we went to... I'd never done it before, but it was really fun. I never realized how different everyone's eyes were, and I think I was trying to impose what works on my eyes, onto theirs. It was fun, like playing dress up like little girls again. Maybe I can always do that as a backup job, in case this whole med school thing doesn't work out.

finals are over!! it feels like a new lease on life, people are going out more. We're making a trip to SF this weekend, and then maybe Lake Tahoe for some boarding next Tues... the holidays are definitely in the air, need to get Christmas shopping done earlier this year. I always say, "oh yeah, I'll buy my presents in Korea" but that NEVER happens (you also don't want to buy your mom's present at a shee-jang, or an outdoor street market).

It's getting cold here, or maybe just foggy. It felt like the holidays. I can't wait til Thanksgiving! My whole family's coming up - incl all my cousins and even my sisters that I haven't seen in (what feels like) forever. From the Macy's Thanksgiving parade (I almost slept through it last year!) to chillin' with family, and to all that food - yum! I can't wait.

to me, ballet's about motion - self expression through movement. Posted by Hello

*fizzle*

that's the sound of a burnout.

ah, keep on forgetting it's finals week... like a friend said, it's hard to think of this week as finals week instead of vacation week. :D not a good mentality, but from talking to people, a lot of people have stopped caring.

maybe our 90% averages will slowly disappear. that'd be nice.

went to BR outlet this morning (hehe), it's so easy to wake up to go shopping but not for class. my budget for skirts have now dropped to anything below $20. i should never buy full price anymore. and then, studied for a bit, and then went to ballet class for the first time in about three years (in the past three years, i went to ballet class ONCE). it was so fun, i missed it more than i thought. it's probably a much better way for me to exercise thru ballet than working out anyways - it's more fun. surprisingly, the class was pretty full (usually adult classes tend to dwindle) and even some guys showed up. what novelty. and now that it's nearing midnight, i'm cramming. :D i think i'm done for today tho - i'm ready for epidemiology, bring it on! the final two tests are the hard ones - parasitology and metabolic regulation. probably no time for ballet after tomorrow.

Julie Kent and Keith Roberts (now with Twyla Tharp, also in Movin' Out in NY) in rehearsal Posted by Hello
i always have this urge to blog during finals week. not sure why, but it's not healthy.

what a beautiful day today. i'm less dizzy today from the flexeril, the valium-like pill i'm taking for my back pain after the lovely accident i got into last week. insurance people are not fun to talk to.

i've got the ballet itch again. it comes and goes, i miss it. going to try to see the SF ballet in spring, if not sooner. the nutcracker is always a yearly tradition, but with finals and my student budget, not sure if it's possible this year.

movin' out is in sacramento! it's tempting to watch it, altho I know that the broadway version is going to have much higher quality dancing in it. man, if i were in NY, it'd be really hard for me to stay away from Broadway and the Lincoln Center, with the American Ballet Theatre there and all those broadway shows.

the saddest thing

an article about the youth vote:

"'The economy and moral values were the top issues for young voters, with about one-fifth of those surveyed choosing each. Young people concerned about moral values strongly supported Bush, while those interested in the economy and jobs chose Kerry.

Iraq and terrorism were next on the list — with Kerry winning the Iraq vote and Bush taking the terrorism group.

“It’s definitely the war,” said Eliana Deutsch, 20, of San Diego, explaining why she came out. “People see these soldiers who are 18 and don’t have an education, and they’re over there dying. It’s really sad that that (the military) is their best option.”"

how sad.

ah, the suspense... who's going to win?? i feel like i made my vote count, at least kerry won in CA.
