hi everyone.

u know when u're so busy that u can't even enjoy life? i think that's where i'm at this week, even tho i really do love what i do. i do, i do. i need some optimism in my life. i think i need a more thankful spirit.

or sleep.

one gripe (please indulge me this once): yesterday was the worst day of class, had class straight through from 10 am til 10 pm, with a one hour lunch break in between. We ate dinner during class, and my wonderful day also included a trip to Sacramento hospital and back. Made it back for Queer Eye for the Straight Guy - after that long day, I just had to relax. Also, ended up talking to two friends on the phone, friends that I'd been ignoring for a long time... sorry guys!! :(

ok. i swear i got the complaining out of my system. sorry jen, for complaining so much on the phone.

i got bo ree cha today. yummy. :) food is always comforting.

isn't it interesting, even after almost 3 years, most of my best friends are my college friends? I'm so glad we've kept in touch. One thing I'm thankful for!

i think the underlying psychology under our addiction to reality tv show is: drumroll: that surely, someone else's life must be more interesting than mine. kinda sad, but it's the old "the grass is greener on the other side" wrapped in a flashy commercial package.

my newest show that i started watching: the restaurant. rocco is the perfect balance of ambition/drive and gentleness. there was a marathon on today that interrupted my studying time. it's always fun to watch someone follow their dreams too, and not have it TOO easy. ;)

it's funny tho, one time i watched a reality show where this medical student carried around a video camera, recording his own life. and i was riveted. even when he was simply studying alone late at night, I could just feel his desire to go to sleep yet he still had so much to do... what to do??

well, in my defense, i was out last night and all day today... :) (no, i'm really not a nerd... not entirely.)

it was davis picnic day! the highlight was meeting up with my friends and watching dachsund racing (so funny!! and so cute, they all have these cape/racing jackets on), also known as the "doxie derby". seeing so many dogs today REALLY made me want a dog.

on my mind: wishing that i was drinking a cafe creme at a cafe in paris.

wow, it's a monday and now i feel like it's just hit me, what a long weekend this was. it was just packed - starting with a trip to berkeley on friday night and getting back around 1 am, then swimming on saturday and going to a professional party (for professional schools MD, law, and business students) and then talking on the phone til 3 am, and then going to folsom yesterday for easter dinner and getting back around 11 pm. maybe it's the late nights that make me think that this weekend was long.

i really DO need to learn to relax. i could use a day off, cleaning and puttering about my house.

i discovered a great website, for whenever i get rich - west elm. i love the furniture here. thom on queer eye used this company to refurbish some guy's house. very minimalist, clean, modern - i love it.

class til 6 pm tonight. bleh. good thing i skipped class most of today - muhahaha. i am NOT going to class from 10 am til 6 pm, i refuse. i did go to my 11 am class tho, cuz it was neurobio - my fav (i know, i'm weird :)

happy easter, everyone! it's gorgeous outside, a great day for swimming. my plans: to drive to my aunt's place for an easter celebration. yay~

i haven't seen the cadbury bunny on tv these days. did he retire? he was so cute, a bunny saying "bok bok bok bok". i miss him.

ah, kimchee chigae is so much better with msg. :P last time, i forgot to use chicken broth (the costco kind has msg in it, unfortunately) and used water instead, and it was definitely different. this time i didn't forget.

i had a whirlwind of a weekend in LA! studying kinda flew out the window. again. on friday night, i got to see the beautiful American Ballet Theatre in an eclectic mixed repertory program, which was awesome. My sister enjoyed it too, which was great, she was laughing out loud. the best part was, i met sascha radetsky! again. he remembered me too, or at least he said he did. i brought my center stage dvd with me this time, which he signed. he's really matured as a dancer, a lot more expressive and visceral - he feels like he's growing into his own skin more in his dancing. it was awesome to see.

then we had lunch in griddle cafe in hollywood, no stars there that day though. but the food was still the best, voted "best breakfast" in the nation for a few years in a row. the prices are yummy too! sarah and i had strawberries and cream waffles, the cream made with "brown sugar sour cream" - but it's so rich and so so good! i'm such a food-ie, i definitely live to eat, not eat to live.

and then buster's was great too, a little more local, but with the live jazz band and great company there as well - met Mollie there, saw her gorgeous engagement ring!! it was such a treat.

whoa, that's so soon. september, too? i guess it's a good month, not too cold or hot. in college, my friends predicted that another girl and i would be the first married in our group of friends. but so far, no one in our group has gotten married. one of the questions they asked in this quiz is if i slept diagonally. does it matter? i guess it measures your preparedness to sleep straight next to someone? i do sometimes sleep diagonally, which probably put off my wedding date a month or two. for fun, you can take the quiz here.

I think ppl are surprised to find that i'm really not a romantic person. i would rather someone be straightforward, i think when guys are romantic i'm always suspicious of an ulterior motive. ah, i'm so cynical~ but as liz says, maybe if it's the right guy, i'll be more romantic.

i'm sick again! sigh. it's probably to make up for all the fun i had in korea. i slept all day yesterday and all night. one good thing is that it's covering up my jet lag, so instead of having trouble sleeping at night, i'm just sleeping all the time.
